Opatija – Rab – Njivice (Krk Island) – Opatija
The wise saying goes: in order to get to know the soul of a certain region, visit its monuments so as to feel the atmosphere of the past, observe the architecture in which the locals live, visit markets and shops, and taste the everyday food. Croatian history, and the history of the Kvarner as well, is full of meals that represent the customs and wisdom of their creation, while stories that have been passed down from generation to generation make this dining experience complete.
The Kvarner is a region with the largest number of top restaurants in a fairly small area that have, for many years now, contributed to the Croatian gourmet scene. This tour visits 3 branded family restaurants and enables one to enjoy the wonderful scenery of Kvarner Bay with all senses.
Day 1: OPATIJA – RAB (L, D)
Check-in from 11h in Opatija port. After cocktail and welcome speech, we depart towards island Rab. Our gastronomy programme begins with authentic snacks served on the sun deck, followed by lunch and a swimming stop, weather permitting. After a guided tour of Rab island and tasting of famous Rab Cake (recipe is secret), we will enjoy the finest traditional Rab island dishes in hotel Barbat restaurant and villa – a harmony of authentic stone architecture surrounded by glorious Mediterranean vegetation and just minutes from the sea.
Day 2: RAB – NJIVICE (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we continue towards the island of Krk to spend the night in Njivice port. Lunch will be served on board and dinner will be served in the famous Rivica restaurant known for its wide selection of fresh sea food dishes.
Day 3: NJIVICE – OPATIJA (B, L, D)
After breakfast, your cruise begins as your ship sails back to Opatija, in time to experience a light breeze descending down from mountain Učka. Lunch on board. In the evening we will enjoy famous Kvarner delicacies of Kukuriku restaurant in the small, pretty hill-top town of Kastav near Opatija where the spirit of local stone is deep in the soul of the place. Final overnight in Opatija port.
Day 4: OPATIJA (B)
Gourmet cruise ends with early morning breakfast. Optional tourist-bus tour of Rijeka and Opatija towns after check out.
